Menorca is the most easterly of the Balearic Islands and is quieter than the other islands such as Majorca and Ibiza. It has more idyllic sandy beaches than the other two combined. Some may be difficult to find and these are often the beaches which have become bird sanctuaries and areas of ecological interest.

Menorca also has a rich archeological history. Dotted throughout the island are many talyots and megalithic remains which have been restored and are well worth visiting.

Cala'n Porter, one of the first holiday resorts to be developed on the island, has something to offer everyone. Situated on the south coast of Menorca and only 10 minutes away from the airport, it has a lovely sandy beach which is ideal for swimming or simply for relaxing while the young children build sand castles or the older energetic family members play ball games on the firmer sand towatds the back of the beach.

Pedalos, beach umbrellas and loungers are available for hire and on the paved promenade there are restaurants to provide meals, drinks and snacks.

Mahon, the capital of Menorca, is only a 15 min car ride away and for those who want to forget about driving there is an hourly bus service. It's waterfront provides a picturesque setting with many visiting yachts & ferries. It also offers harbour boat trips with English commentary about the harbour, which is one of the largest in the world, and its British past. There are also many fashion boutiques & smart restaurants in which to while away the time.

In the centre of the resort there are several supermarkets which provide all your everyday requirements and when you just want to eat out you will find a large variety of restaurants all within walking distance.

Monte Toro in the centre of the island is Menorca's highest point but is only 350 metres and can be reached by car. It provides excellent panoramic views north, south, east & west.
